Kitchen Kulttuuritalo is a food concept within Kulttuuritalo, the iconic cultural centre designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. We created a flexible identity system that unifies multiple food vendors while reflecting the architectural character and cultural energy of the space itself.
Project Scope
Aalto’s distinctive design language, along with the colours, curves and materials found throughout the building, became the foundation for the identity. We translated these references into a bold and adaptable visual system designed to work across a diverse range of food concepts, menus and communications.
Typography, colour and layout were used to create a strong and recognisable presence while allowing flexibility across different vendors and events. The identity extended across signage, print and digital touchpoints to create a more cohesive experience throughout the venue.
Working with Finnish photographer Anton Sucksdorff and food stylist Jouni Toivanen, we also created a series of images using food and ingredients arranged to echo the forms and geometry of Aalto’s architecture, connecting the culinary experience directly back to the building itself.
