Project Scope:
As part of the Sleep + Eat event, designers were challenged to explore not only the best of contemporary hotel design, but what guest rooms might look like 15 years into the future. Delight collaborated with ReardonSmith Architects and students from Glion Institute of Higher Education and Hotelschool The Hague, under the guidance of HoCoSo’s consultancy directors, to develop a concept that responds to this brief.
Beyond standard hospitality
The opportunity was to rethink the relationship between guest and room. Rather than a static environment, Heya proposes a space that adapts intuitively to the individual, creating a more personal and responsive experience.
Seamlessly personalised
At the core of Heya is the idea of seamless personalisation. The room adapts in real time, allowing guests to shape layout, atmosphere and function through integrated technology that anticipates their needs. It moves beyond surface-level customisation, creating an experience that feels considered, responsive and specific to each individual.
Sustainable wellbeing
Heya combines this with a more conscious approach to wellbeing and sustainability. The experience encourages guests to engage more thoughtfully with their environment, supporting restoration while reducing unnecessary consumption. It is a space designed not just to host, but to recalibrate.
From concept to blueprint
The idea was developed into a comprehensive blueprint, providing clear direction for architects, interior designers and lighting specialists, ensuring the concept could be translated into a viable and coherent design solution.
